Geography

One of the largest subspecies of bears - Siberian bear-is widespread in Baikal.

He lives mainly in a wooded area. It reaches 2.5 meters in length and up to 1.5 meters high at the withers.

The weight of the largest specimens reaches 600 kg.

The coat is thick, the color varies from pale brown to dark brown, and in some animals

the visible yellow and black colours.

The bear is omnivorous. Usually the diet includes nuts, berries, plant tubers and carrion.

Sometimes it hunts hoofed animals. On the lake bears come ashore EN masse for eating

insects and calves of bovine fish.

Bears do not create pairs, which dwell alone. During hibernation in a den are born from one

up to three cubs. Bears remain with their mother until the age of three.

Often you can find a bear with cubs of all ages.
