Olkhon sights are visited by pilgrims from around the world. According to legend, it is here that Genghis Khan is buried. There are many places on the island where spirits are worshiped. Here you can talk with a real Baikal shaman and order a ritual from him.
• Buryat village
This is one of the most visited places on Olkhon. Here you can familiarize yourself with the customs of the people, see traditional Buryat dwellings and utensils. Hospitable Buryats will sing for you, they will teach you to dance ehor, and they will feed you dinner from “white food”.
• Cape Khoboy
Cape is very picturesque. Translated from the Buryat means "fang". He really looks like a molar tooth. The canine rock on the lake side resembles a Greek female profile. Therefore, it is called so - Virgo. The rock is shrouded in many beautiful legends that locals will gladly tell you. On a clear day, from here you can see the Peninsula Holy Nose. According to legend, it was on Cape Khoboy that great power was acquired by the first shaman. To this day, prayers are performed in the caves.
• Cape Burkhan or Shamanka rock
Cape Burkhan, which is located very close to the village of Khuzhir, is a holy place for both the Buryats and the Mongols. Shaman rituals were held in the cave through the cape. It is believed that the spirits of the owner of the island Olkhon Khan Hute-baabai and his son, the eagle, live here. Cape is the main place of pilgrimage for shamanists of Central Asia. If you want to see the shaman, then you should visit Cape Burkhan.
• Sarai Bay (Sarai Beach)
Near the cape Burkhan there is a sandy beach of the Saraysky gulf. There is always a lot of people on a three-kilometer-long sandy spit: there is warm, a lot of sun, a warming bay, and if you wish, you can always go for a walk in the forest, which is not far away, breathe pine air.
• Ogoy Island and the Enlightenment Stupa
A small island very close to Olkhon, where the Buddhist stupa appeared only recently, in 2005. It was built by enthusiasts. Buddhist relics are placed inside the stupa. A little more than 10 years have passed, and this island has already become a “fad” for tourists. Many come to Lake Baikal, believing that it is in this place that one can purify and recharge with spiritual energy.
• Lake Shara-Nur
Shara-Nur in Buryat language means “yellow lake”. It is considered healing because of the saline mineral waters and muds that help with diseases of the joints. Why was the lake called yellow? Because of the composition of the salts: when a person descends into the lake, his body becomes a dark red tint. The lake is not deep, and swimming in it is not difficult.
Listvyanka village
The tourist capital of the lake, the nearest "Baikal" to the airport of Irkutsk (75 km, 1.5 hours away). Here are concentrated hotels, restaurants with Baikal and European cuisine, souvenir shops, as well as various sightseeing and entertainment offers for tourists (including active and extreme rest). The main attractions of the village are:

The highest point is near Listvyanka (728 m), which offers a stunning panoramic view of Lake Baikal, the source of the Angara and the mountains of the Eastern Sayan Mountains, which can be seen in the distance. Special lifts will take us to the site and back.
Circum-Baikal Railway (Circum-Baikal Railway)
Visiting Baikal and not seeing the Circum-Baikal Railway is at least strange. Well, when else will be able to ride on a time machine, because the composition pulls the real locomotive, produced in the XX century. This ancient road, which was built in the early 20th century. It leads from the port of Baikal to Kultuk. In the port of Baikal, you can visit the museum and climb the historic lighthouse. During the trip, you can visit the longest tunnel of the Circum-Baikal railway with a length of 778 meters. For 60 years now, the Circum-Baikal Railway is an open-air museum!
Somewhere here, according to legend, the cars of the “golden” echelon of Kolchak fell off the rails and fell into the lake, which they are still searching for. And the road itself is a marvel of engineering thought of the past. It was punched into the rocks along the shore of Baikal: there are 39 beautiful tunnels, 16 stone galleries, about 470 bridges, viaducts and trays per hundred kilometers of the path. Already therefore worth visiting here. At stops you can go down to Baikal, swim, look at beautiful places and capture them as a souvenir.
Peschanaya Bay (Baikal Riviera)
You must have seen photos of these strange trees: giants-larches rise above the coast, as if on stilts. The spectacle is very picturesque and even mystical ... The place is called the Baikal Riviera. Here sand, clear water of the lake and cozy beaches. And the secret of stilted trees is simple: time and wind, which repeatedly blew sand from under the roots, worked hard. And now during the hurricane it seems that the larches, having come off the ground, are walking along the shore, like the guards of a lake. Incredible impression. Two others adjoin the Peschanaya Bay - the small and picturesque Grandmother and Granddaughter, separated by a long cape Grandfather. Passing the grottoes, go to the rock protruding not far from the coast of Baklana. A large colony of gulls lives on this four-story ledge, adjacent to cormorants. The bay is surrounded on two sides by rocks. The main attraction of the bay is a pine forest. In the old days, one of the rocks was used as a beacon and was set on fire manually. Also pay attention to the sand, it is colorful.
Ayaya Bay
Cozy, picturesque place in the north of Baikal, suitable for recreation and fishing. Translated from the Evenk name sounds like "beautiful." The bay with a golden sandy beach is sheltered from the Baikal winds from all sides by steep shores. This is one of the few places on Baikal where you can see a seal: 20 meters from the cape, a reef protrudes from the water, on which Baikal seals like to bask in the sun. From the eastern shore, two small rivers flow into the bay, one of which has the same name - Ayaya. From here, along a simple path, you can reach the famous Frolichi Lake in a couple of hours or climb Mount Bear River, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view of North Baikal.

The waters of the mineral source have a healing effect on the human body and are recommended for skin and gynecological diseases, circulatory system, musculoskeletal and nervous systems.
Little Sea Strait
From ancient times Baikal is called the sea, and the strait separating the island of Olkhon from the mainland is called the Small Sea. This is a small strait, where, thanks to a small depth, the water is always warmer than in the open Baikal, and therefore this place is well suited for a beach holiday.
• Bay Mukhor
This is the southernmost bay of the Small Sea, and therefore, the warmest and most beloved by tourists. Its location is also advantageous: near the crossing to Olkhon and just a few kilometers from the village of MRS. This simplifies the issue of getting to a place of rest. The beaches are sandy, the bay itself is shallow, which is why the water warms up to +20 degrees and above.
• Sarminskoe gorge
This narrow gorge passes into an unusually flourishing valley, famous for the fact that in 1643 the first Cossacks came here. On the left bank of the gorge, you can see the primitive drawings. It is from this gorge the strongest Baikal wind Sarma escapes. The gorge itself is quite picturesque. It goes along the canyon. Ascent along the trail takes 6 - 8 hours. Golden beaches, warm water, dense forest along the coast and the sun, sun, sun. I do not want to sunbathe. Although Enkhaluk is a popular place, you can still find wild places to be alone with nature. If you do not want to lie on the beach, you can create your own leisure program.
